The BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media provides an ideal opportunity for anyone interested to explore and choose the specialisation of fine or applied arts that suits them best.
Throughout the program, all students, under the guidance of specialised instructors, complete at least one project in every different pathway of art and design. This allows them to gain a deeper understanding of what each specialisation entails, as well as the career and employment prospects it offers.
Upon completing the Foundation Diploma, students create a detailed personal portfolio, which is the most essential tool for gaining admission to top universities abroad for studies in fine and applied arts.
The content of the BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media at Aigaia is structured into three main stages, each contributing to the development of the students’ artistic and professional journey.
Exploratory Stage
(September – January)
The first stage of the Foundation Course is an exploratory program designed to enhance the artistic perception of students through the use of various techniques, media, and materials. During this stage, students participate in various projects covering all different pathways of the Fine & Applied Arts, offering an intensive and exciting experience.

Confirmation Stage
(April – June)
In the third and final stage, students develop and implement their final personal project, applying the knowledge and skills they have acquired during the Foundation Course. This project is presented and evaluated at the school’s annual exhibition, marking the completion of the BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media.
The program also includes courses in art theory/history/context and figure drawing, enriching the artistic education and broadening their perception of the arts.
- One year of full-time study for students who have graduated from secondary education, or
- Two or more years of part-time evening study, at least 2-3 times a week, for high school students aged 16 and above, or
