Textile Design and Creation / Textile Art
Through textile art, we come into contact with soft materials especially fabrics and also pattern, colour, line, texture, rhythm, repetition and materiality. Through different techniques and materials, imagination, observation, aesthetic awareness, manual skills and creative thinking are cultivated, while we learn to transform ideas, images and personal experiences into designs, surfaces and objects with personal character and meaning.
In the workshop, emphasis is placed both on the creation of original patterns, textile artworks and compositions, as well as on the understanding of materials, techniques and their applications. Participants are introduced to basic principles of composition, repetition, rhythm and colour combinations, as well as ways of developing designs through hand drawing, collage, painting, texture-making, stamping, printing and stencil techniques.
At the same time, skills are developed through techniques such as weaving, embroidery, sewing, the use of threads, creating texture, using mixed media and other experimental approaches. Through these processes, participants become familiar with the relationship between design, material, touch and use, discovering new ways of expression through fabric.
Through this creative process and experimentation, we discover and the develop new, personal and authentic ways of creating. At the same time, participants study patterns, textiles, techniques and works by other designers and artists, always within a framework of respect, inspiration and artistic ethics.
