Fashion Design
Fashion Design introduces us to the creative process of transforming an idea into a three-dimensional form. Through exploring shape, volume, proportion, movement, colour, texture and materiality, participants develop their imagination, aesthetic awareness, design thinking and personal creative expression.
The workshop places emphasis on developing original designs and personal creations. Participants create their own fashion concepts while becoming familiar with the fundamentals of fashion design and construction through drawing, draping, pattern making and three-dimensional experimentation.
At the same time, they use both sewing machines and hand techniques to create details, textures and distinctive elements for their fabrics and constructions. They experiment with form and surface, bringing their ideas to life by transforming fabric into garments, works of art, soft sculptures or any other form their imagination can conceive.
With an emphasis on freedom of design, creative experimentation and technical skill development, participants strengthen their practical abilities while discovering their own unique creative language. Alongside their studio practice, they explore the work of influential fashion designers and contemporary approaches to fashion within a framework of respect, inspiration and artistic ethics.
