It is designed to prepare you for a career as a professional photographer, offering a well-rounded, creative, and commercially relevant experience. 

The HND in Professional Photography is a full-time program lasting two or three years (depending on your prior experience and learning). 

The program places strong emphasis on developing a professional attitude, meeting deadlines, attention to detail, and client satisfaction. You will work on diverse photographic assignments, creating new and original image solutions while honing essential skills such as self-motivation, research, and reflective practice. 

You will be taught by practicing photographers, visual artists, and theorists, all with extensive experience in the industry. Additionally, guest lecturers from various professional backgrounds will provide valuable insights into real-world creative and professional practices.

Assessment

You will be assessed through both practical, written and project-based assignments. 

Days per week

The ideal delivery mode consists of 3 days per week of in-person classes at Aigaia, with 2 additional days for self-directed study. This schedule can be adjusted based on each student’s individual needs. 

Aigaia School of Art & Design has partnered with global education leader Pearson to offer BTEC courses. These courses provide a recognised pathway to university, allowing students to progress to the final year of a degree program or pursue other professional qualifications.

  • If, after successfully completing the HND in Photography, you wish to pursue a one-year top-up at a British university for a Bachelor’s Degree, and English is not your first language, it is recommended to have at least an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent.
    If you plan to complete this program and then seek employment, the program can be taught entirely in Greek. 
  • Demonstrate ability to follow and successfully complete the program. 

Your portfolio should be a selection of images that:

Illustrate a range of basic camera techniques
Showcase your current skills
Avoid duplicity in your selection
Images may be colour or black & white 

Fashion advertising  / Corporate image manipulation
