Erasmus+

Aigaia students have the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ European programmes for vocational education.

Mobilities of students and staff abroad are taking place since 2016. It has been extremely successful, given the small number of students and programmes of study offered by our Institution.  Our students and academic staff have participated in Erasmus+ mobility programs in Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain, Lithuania etc.

The purpose of these mobilities is the continuous training for our staff and students, gaining more experiences in the professional felds of the Visual Arts, and exposing them to the European and international environments where they can be cultivated and developed.

The mobilities are organised by Aigaia and are aiming to be about various subjects that are concerned with professional and vocational education, internships at various companies or generally in the industry involved with the arts, culture and art education.

Some of the mobilities that took place are:

• Mobility to Lithuania, March 2022. Business entrepreneur program as a partner Institution. One member of staff and two students participated. The emphasis on this program was the development of green entrepreneurships.
• Mobility to Povoa de Varzim in Portugal, August 2021. Two students and five members of staff for training. The program focused on traditional craft of the area and was a hands-on workshop based.
• Mobility of one member of staff and five students in 2019 participated in this program in Leeuwarden, in the Netherlands, which was about developing creative businesses and young entrepreneurships.
• AIGAIA as a partner organisation, participated in the project “Development of employability and Entrepreneurship Skills through Mobility of VET Learners and Staff” in 2020: four students and one member of staff
• Mobility to Portugal, Three students and two members of staff, included internships in the fashion industry and job shadowing at schools and art workshops in museums.
• Mobility to Bologna Italy, two teachers, included a training program on curating and exhibitions for academic staff.
• Mobility to Bologna, five students, included a training program based on curating exhibitions for students. This training program was also concerned with the set up and organisation of the presentation of artworks.
• Mobility for five students and four teachers at Seville Art School in Spain for a hand on training course, which included 3D and sculpture techniques, mosaics and ceramics.
