Visual Arts Exhibition at Aigaia

2 – 17 February 2024

Opening: Friday, 2 February @20:00

The exhibition will showcase the final major projects of the second year students of the Visual Arts program at Aigaia School of Art and Design. It is a unique opportunity to discover the variety of artistic expressions that have emerged from the students personal creative journies. Each work is the outcome of an individual and unique creative exploration, showcasing a distinctive viewpoint and artistic expression.

By exploring contemporary art themes in visual arts our second year students engage with subjects reflecting the complexities of our modern world. Themes such as identity, freedom of speech and other political, personal and societal issues become canvases for exploration. The use of multidimensional approaches and interactiveness redefine traditional boundaries, inviting viewers to question and engage actively with the artwork. The students examine cultural shifts, political landscapes and also their personal narratives. This exploration not only emphasises on the spirit of time but also challenges preconceived notions, pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. As a result, visual arts reflect contemporary realities and become catalysts for thoughtful discussions and societal self-reflection.

The exhibition will also showcase pieces from the rest of the students and also from adults exploring various art disciplines, materials, and techniques. From experimenting with different mediums to finding their unique artistic language, all students contribute to a dynamic and inclusive display, reflecting the richness of their creative explorations.

The exhibition will open on Friday, 2 February 2024 @20:00, at our premises in 81, Agion Omologiton Str.

The exhibition will be open from Monday – Saturday 2 – 17 February 2024, during school’s working hours.
